Cyberpunk 2077 fans can play the upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion before launch and we’ll tell you how.

Announced in September 2022, Phantom Liberty is the highly anticipated expansion to CD Projekt Red’s sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077. Described as a “spy-thriller story”, V swears allegiance to the New United States of America, for currently unknown reasons. Phantom Liberty not only see’s the return of V but also the charismatic Johnny Silverhand played by the breathtaking Keanu Reeves. However, that is not all, because the expansion also requires V to team up with a new character, an FIA agent named Solomon Reed, played by none other than Idris Elba.

Take a look at the trailer for Phantom Liberty below.

What’s more, Phantom Liberty will also take us to a new location in Night City, known as the Pacifica Combat Zone, which sounds lovely. In addition to that, players will be able to learn new skills, acquire new weapons, tech and much more. Up until this point, we have only seen a single trailer for Phantom Liberty as fans are still waiting for a proper gameplay deepdive. Thankfully, that time might be arriving sooner than we expected.

Announced on the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter page, CD Projekt Red will be hosting a special hands-on preview for members of the press and content creators. Furthermore, there are also plans for the community to go hands-on with the expansion too.

ICYMI, we'll start talking about Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty this June!

At @summergamefest: Play Days, we'll have hands-on sessions for press and content creators. We're also planning plenty of hands-on opportunities for our community at a later date, so stay tuned! ☀️🎮

The Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty blowout will be playable at Summer Game Fest, with details on the community hands-on opportunity to be revealed at a later date. If nothing else, with Phantom Liberty being at Summer Game Fest, hopefully, this might mean we’ll also get that long-awaited gameplay deepdive. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be released sometime this year for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Sadly it will not be coming to PS4 or Xbox One, largely due to Cyberpunk 2077’s infamous launch issues.

In recent news, Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been absolutely floored by its ‘true next-gen update’.
