Cyberpunk 2077 meets BioShock in hugely underrated FPS you probably missed

Hunt down a serial killer

Nobody Wants To Die didn’t get the flowers it deserved when it dropped last year, if you ask me.

Developed by Critical Hit Games and published by PLAION, Nobody Wants To Die is perhaps best described as a perfect blend of the worlds of Cyberpunk 2077 and BioShock.

Here, you’ll find yourself in New York in the year 2329.

“Immortality comes at a price that someone needs to pay,” the synopsis teases.

This is an interactive noir detective story, where you’ll play as Detective James Karra, leading the hunt of a serial killer who’s targeting the city’s elite.

You can take a look at Nobody Wants To Die in action below.

Solving the mystery will require you to access data banks, manipulate time, and use advanced technology to reconstruct past events, uncovering key clues.

Nobody Wants To Die’s story is incredibly engaging, made all the better by the fact that this game looks simply stunning.

It’s been made in Unreal Engine 5, and the results are a sight to behold.

It’s no real surprise that the game has secured a ‘Very Positive’ review score over on Steam.

“The story is unique and paired with the amazing graphics, I really enjoyed it,” wrote one player.

“Great story and Graphics. I'm not one to play detective games but this one was definitely one to play, 9/10,” added another.

Critics were slightly more, well, critical, but the game still secured a very respectable top score of 78.

“Nobody Wants To Die is a thoroughly enjoyable sci-fi detective thriller. The gameplay during investigations can feel a little perfunctory, but the narrative unfolds at a brisk pace, and the developer makes smart use of visual trickery to convince you that the game is much bigger than it actually is, presenting you with unforgettable future cityscapes that are perpetually out of reach. It's all an illusion, but a beautiful one,” wrote Push Square, awarding the game a score of eight.

Nobody Wants To Die is available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

It’ll set you back £19.99 regardless of which platform you pick it up on.
