Cyberpunk 2077 confirms we're getting a major feature in one final update

This should come in Silverhandy

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for. Cyberpunk 2077 may be wrapping up, but it turns out it actually has one last gift left to give.

If you've been keeping track of the news, last week it emerged that Cyberpunk 2077 was finally being laid to rest as staff at CD Projekt RED were moved onto new projects: namely The Witcher 4 and the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.

Given there are apparently precisely zero people working on Cyberpunk 2077 at the moment, you'd be forgiven for assuming that was it for updates. Not so.

As it turns out, Cyberpunk 2077 is getting one final (surely?) update that's adding a feature a lot of fans have been waiting for.

In a recent article by IGN, a spokesperson for CDPR confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will get an update adding support for

FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR3)... eventually.

A quick primer on FSR3 for those of you who might not know: it's basically a bit of tech that boosts the framerate of a game. That's it. That's all you need to know.

Anyway, CDPR told IGN that despite the fact there is currently no developer working on Cyberpunk 2077, that doesn't mean the team has forgotten about implementing FSR3.

"We are still working on the FSR3 support for Cyberpunk 2077, but I do not have an update on its availability just yet," a spokesperson confirmed.

So we may be in for a bit of a wait while CDPR focuses on its new projects, but it's nice to know there's at least one more Cyberpunk 2077 update waiting for us somewhere down the road.

This is probably just as well, given I don't think we'll be seeing the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 for a very, very long time.
