Cyberpunk 2077 has had quite the journey. It’s no secret that upon release, CD Projekt’s latest title was a bug-ridden mess. The game was partially pulled from sale but after a major update earlier this year, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally living up to its potential. With the game now in a decent state, fans are looking ahead to the upcoming DLC which is rumoured to land next year.

According to dataminers, the DLC will open up previously-unexplored parts of Night City like Pacifica, introducing new main story missions and a character called Songbird who reportedly has the ability to ‘silence’ Johnny Silverhand. Intriguing. As mentioned, the DLC is supposedly due to drop in 2023 but a recent tweet sent fans into a frenzy, thinking that it might be released even sooner.

The official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account recently tweeted, “Wann Cyberpunk-Expansion?” and if you’re wondering what that means, I’ll preface by saying it was part of a German Twitter thread and translates as “When Cyberpunk-Expansion?” I’m sure you’re aware that Gamescom is happening next week so fans presumed the tweet was hinting towards a possible Gamescom reveal, seeing as Gamescom takes place in Germany.

I’m afraid fans may have been getting ahead of themselves though. You may not be up to date on your German memes, and honestly neither am I, but GAMINGbible’s very own Imogen is and it turns out, “Wann Cyberpunk-Expansion?” is probably just a joke based on the “Wann bubatz legal?” meme. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the DLC is on the way but this might not be the tease fans first thought it was.
