Crazy Taxi is long overdue a revival, fans agree

We can already hear The Offspring

Crazy Taxi, originally released in arcades and for the SEGA Dreamcast, is known for being a brilliant racing game (Can you call it a racing game?) that created a template that many have copied since.

Fans have gathered over on Reddit to both sing the game's praises and beg for a revisit to the franchise. Crazy Taxi is a great 'pick up and play' game that had a lot of people obsessed with the band The Offspring, well, lots of early late 90s and early 2000s bands in fact. The easy to play, hard to master game has been ported to many different systems, but we definitely need a new entry in the series.

And another franchise that needs reviving from SEGA:

As soon as I saw this Reddit post, it brought back floods of memories. I owned the Dreamcast version of the game from day one and my friends and I would play the stand-up arcade cabinet every weekend. Bringing back Crazy Taxi would be the dream, and plenty of Redditors feel the same way. "I fire this up at least once a year," says u/JocoLabs. Sadly, SEGA hasn't revisited the game in full but the gameplay of collecting a customer and speeding them to their destination has popped up a few times. One Reddit user said, "SEGA only makes Yakuza and middling Sonic games now," but to be fair, the gameplay has been used in Yakuza. Fans of The Simpsons Road Rage will be familiar with the game as well.

Looking through the comments to the original post, it's mostly a good bunch of nerds quoting lyrics from the game's iconic soundtrack. As soon as the game opened players would hear "Ya ya ya ya ya!" from the The Offspring's 'All I Want', as quoted by u/CopperSledge00 which was followed by the rest of the lyrics by other members. This game would be a great rerelease for modern consoles.
