Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Zombies mode has been teased by an industry insider.

Zombies has been one of the most popular modes in the Call of Duty series ever since its inception in 2008 with Call of Duty: World at War. In fact, like with the single player campaign or competitive multiplayer, Zombies is a reason for some to pick up the latest instalment of the Activision series.

However, with the Zombies mode not being a traditional feature in Modern Warfare, its last outing was with Call of Duty: Vanguard in 2021. Yet, according to a recent rumour, that tradition may be breaking with the release of Modern Warfare III.

As reported by Comicbook.com (via Tom Henderson of InsiderGaming), it’s claimed that Zombies could be coming to Modern Warfare for the very first time. What’s more, rather than being a round-based mode, Modern Warfare III’s take on the popular mode will offer something different. But at this time, there are no details on how it will differ from previous modes.

It’s worth keeping in mind that this report is based on rumour and speculation. So until we get official confirmation from Activision, we should take it with a pinch of salt. That being said, we know that a Call of Duty release is extremely likely this year in one form or another, after all, the publisher seemingly teased its arrival back in April. Hopefully, Activision will reveal all in the coming months.

In related news, fans are becoming increasingly aggrieved with Call of Duty’s ‘greedy’ microtransaction and fans are claiming that it’s killing the franchise. This concern has been increased by the fact that a recent cosmetic bundle costs £25/$30.

Thankfully in more positive news, a devoted fan recently revived cut Zombies maps and modes from Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Happy days!
