We’re not even halfway through the first season of HBO’s The Last of Us but if you’re familiar with us TLOU fans, then you’ll know that we just cannot stop looking ahead to the future. From the upcoming multiplayer game to a potential The Last of Us Part III, we like to discuss what’s next for the franchise - and that includes the TV series’ second season.
The Last of Us has finally been renewed for another season which means that pure emotional devastation is on its way to our TV screens. I cannot wait. Already, fans think they’ve spotted who may be portraying Abby. Some questioned whether Bella Ramsey would return as Ellie or whether an older actress would be cast. Well, shock - the 19-year-old Bella is staying onboard and she’s looking forward to exploring Ellie and Dina’s relationship.

Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Bella explained that Ellie’s relationship with Dina is something she’s particularly excited to bring to life in season two. “I'm really excited, to be honest, for the Ellie [and] Dina story. I've watched a cut together, someone's made a phenomenal - I don't know how they do it - like an amazing edit of just the gameplay for Ellie and Dina's love story. So I'm excited to play that out,” she said.
Bella went on to add that she’s also looking forward to examining the increasing “complexity of [Ellie’s] relationship with Joel and how that gets decidedly more complex. [..] And the violence that ensues is thrilling in a way, to get to maybe explore that in a really safe environment. It will be cool.” Of course, we know what happens in The Last of Us Part II. The journey begins with a major death and already, it’s something that Bella is anxious about.
“I'm nervous,” she added. “I know what happens in the second game and I'm nervous about being potentially without Pedro for a while. It's gonna be really sad.” I’m sad thinking about it already.
