Battlefield 6 open beta dates 'confirmed', mark your calendars

Go to war nice and early!

You can soon play Battlefield 6 nice and early, way before its highly anticipated release later this year.

2025 is going to be a big year for EA when it comes to its long-running military shooter series, Battlefield. Way back when, it was a genuine alternative to Call of Duty.

However, in recent years, the Battlefield series had lost its way, and that all came to a head with the release of Battlefield 2042 in 2021. It was never a good start when those in charge decided to drop the single-player campaign for the game.

Historically, the single-player campaigns have been a blast in the Battlefield series. By dropping that mode in Battlefield 2042, it not only felt like less of a product for a full-priced game, but it also alienated a large chunk of the fanbase who come to this series for its single-player offering.

Then we have all the missing features of Battlefield 2042’s multiplayer modes, some of which were very basic, such as a competent matchmaking and leaderboard system, as well as character loadouts and more. Not to mention that much of its maps were buggy and uninspired.

To DICE’s credit, a lot of those issues were fixed, but for the early adopters of Battlefield 2042, the damage was already done and its attempted revival was too little, too late.

So it’s not out of the question to say that when Battlefield 6 arrives, it could very well be a make-or-break for the series. That being said, the early signs are looking promising following the release of its first cinematic trailer.

Later today, the worldwide multiplayer reveal for Battlefield 6 will take place at 19:30 UK time and with that, fans will be hoping that its beta details will also be officially revealed.

However, as reported by TweakTown (via Insider Gaming), Battlefield 6 is expected to have three betas, all scheduled to take place in August.

Courtesy of those enrolled in Battlefield Labs, the first beta will be closed and will take place from 7 August to 8 August. The following two betas will be open.

The first open beta will take place from 9 August to 10 August, and then the third from 14 August to 17 August 2025.

It’s also reported that Battlefield 6 will be released on 10 October 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

While we should take all rumours and leaks with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise, being this close to the big reveal, it wouldn't be surprising if there’s truth behind all the gossip.
