Since its launch back in October, Battlefield 6 has gone from strength to strength and with a free update offering heaps of new content, the FPS continues to gain popularity.

Released back in October as the next major instalment in the Battlefield franchise, Battlefield 6 was met with positive reviews from critics and players alike and with its rival, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, not being off to a good start, it seems as though there is a clear winner this time around.

It especially helps that Battlefield 6 has already offered its players access to heaps of new content thanks to its Season 1 - California Resistance update.

As part of Battlefield 6’s seasonal content, players will now be able to head to an idyllic Californian neighbourhood in a brand-new map called Eastwood.

“From golf courses to luxury villas, this affluent neighborhood is now a warzone, as players bring high-intensity action to this previously tranquil landscape,” the official press release reads.

The new season also arrives alongside a new fast-paced game mode called Sabotage which tasks players with destroying as many sites as possible before the round ends.

This game mode is available for a limited time.

Of course, Battlefield REDSEC also launched earlier this month with the new battle-royale mode proving a hit with players.

Now, new content has been added to the game mode, including a new mission as well as the arrival of SCIFs (Prepper Stashes) across the map.

How is all of this relevant you may ask?

Well, Battlefield Studios has announced that Battlefield 6 and REDSEC will be free to play courtesy of a limited-time trial.

Available next week onwards

Available from 25 November to 2 December, the free trial will allow players to experience Battlefield 6 alongside select maps and modes, totalling five modes and three maps.

“This is your chance to experience the high octane multiplayer warfare of Battlefield 6 for an entire week for free,” the press release continues.

So if you are yet to try out Battlefield 6 or just want an excuse to check out REDSEC, take advantage of this upcoming free trial.

Our very own Olly Smith loved Battlefield 6 when he played it back in October, calling it “this year’s killer FPS”.

“Well-designed maps and strong teamplay features make for interesting online rounds,” his review read.

“This bleeds out into other aspects of the game; the gunplay, the weapon customisation, and the destruction mechanics. It’s punchy, direct, and exciting.

It all feels carefully tuned to how players have wanted the game to be like since the golden era of the series.”
