It appears as if a Battlefield 6 beta has been revealed a little too early, before the game has even had a formal announcement.
Gaming’s most recent worst kept secret is the upcoming sequel to Battlefield 2042, coming from EA Games and DICE.
While EA hasn’t taken to any stages to show off the new instalment in the Battlefield franchise, we know it exists because there have been countless leaks over the past year.
Most recently, a revisit to one of the most popular game modes has been leaked for Battlefield 6, and since then, dataminers have been digging around in BF Labs.

BF Labs is where the new game is being tested by pro gamers and developers, and it’s where most of the leaked footage has emerged from.
A new update to the program has uncovered a file called “Battlefield 6 Open Beta” leading fans to think that an announcement is coming soon, and with it, details on when we can get our hands on the game.
Nothing more has been revealed, so we don’t yet know if this is a beta that will roll out across all platforms, nor do we know how long the beta will be live for.
If it’s a truly open beta, you won’t even need a pre-order for the game to jump in.

Battlefield 6 is hotly anticipated, especially after the lacklustre performance of Battlefield 2042, which had players disappointed.
The game is reported to have a budget of around $400 million, and heads of EA Games are hoping that the new shooter brings in over 100 million players when it launches in 2026.
It’s an ambitious plan which will see the game going head-to-head with Activision in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, but will it convert fans?
The beta will have many excited to try out the game and get a taste of what’s to come next year.
