The Battlefield 6 playtest is on the way, and you have less than 24 hours to sign up for it if you want to play the game early.
The next Battlefield game is going to be the biggest yet, and hopefully much better than Battlefield 2042 was…
It’ll boast larger maps, likely more customisation and more importantly some of the most advanced environmental destruction we’ve seen in the series so far, which should be fun to play around with.

Speaking of playing around, the official playtest kicks off tomorrow, 23 May, and if you’re interested in giving it a go you need to sign up as soon as possible.
Electronic Arts will be running a 72 hour Pre-Alpha on an invite-only basis, specifically those who’ve signed up to Battlefield Labs.
It’s said the goal of the playtest will be to “verify server performance and stability with increased player counts throughout a full weekend. During this time we will have a select group of maps and modes available for play.” The test will apparently include players in “Europe, North America, and select areas of Asia.”
Many fans have already shared their invites online, with information on how to potentially get one shared to the relevant Reddit groups.

It’s an exciting opportunity, and one fans of Battlefield will likely jump at as the playtest is presumably available for PC and console players.
It’ll be nice to learn more about the game too, though participants will be under a strict NDA apparently.
Rumour has it Battlefield 6 will take place between 2027 and 2030 but from what we’ve seen so far it looks like the future tech of Battlefield 2042 won’t be making a return. This is probably a good thing, as the series needs another serious, boots-on-the-ground entry.
