Fair to say, it’s going to be a while until Rocksteady Studios is ready to unveil its next project.

The developer wasted years on the failed Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League; a live-service title that was pretty much dead on arrival.

After several delays, the title finally launched on 24 February 2024 with the final content update arriving in January of this year.

Honestly, I’m surprised devs even kept the game alive for 12 months.

It was then reported that due to Suicide Squad’s failure, Rocksteady’s devs had been drafted in to help Avalance Software with the development of a director’s cut of Hogwarts Legacy.

It then came to light, however, that that project had also been cancelled; more time wasted.

It’s now believed that Rocksteady is working on a new Batman title, although it’s not abundantly clear whether this is in any way connected to the existing Arkham Trilogy.

It’s certainly possible that the Arkham Trilogy could continue, after Suicide Squad’s final story update confirmed that it was a Batman clone who was killed in the game’s opening - not the man himself.

Whatever it is that Rocksteady is cooking up, it’s years away from being ready to be unveiled or announced, which isn’t ideal for fans who are yearning for something new.

There is one thing that Rocksteady could do to satiate their appetite though: drop a 60fps update for Batman: Arkham Knight.

Rocksteady has never said whether such an update is on the cards, but surely it’s only a matter of time?

Ubisoft has been steadily releasing 60fps updates for its titles, and rumours claim that Rockstar Games may be launching a Red Dead Redemption 2 update very soon.

Could Rocksteady follow suit with Batman: Arkham Knight?

Fans are very much hoping so.

“Give these games the 60fps treatment already,” wrote X/Twitter user AshenOneVI, featuring images of Batman: Arkham Knight, Red Dead Redemption 2, Bloodborne, and Dishonoured 2.

“In an alternate timeline, Batman: Arkham Knight would get a 60fps [update] on its 10th anniversary next week,” added ShadePJ.

That’s a great point actually. Maybe something could arise for the occasion.

“Honestly fr, I can’t complete the Arkham Knight platinum [because] the game keeps crashing so much from frame drops,” added silenceisloud69.

I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that an update is coming. I’m afraid there’s no evidence either way though at the present time.
