Batman: Arkham Knight fans, you may now have a new reason to revisit the game thanks to this new mod release.

If you remember back to Batman: Arkham Knight, Deathstroke appeared in the game but you didn’t really get to fight him.

Okay, you got to fight him as part of a tank battle using the Batmobile. But there wasn’t really anything in the way of a real hand-to-hand boss fight.

Modder GPUnity, who has created several Arkham mods before, has sought to change this by creating a new mod for Batman: Arkham Knight which adds a real Deathstroke fight to the game.

To show off their progress on the mod so far, GPUnity has released a video detailing their Massive Gameplay Overhaul mod. You can view that below.

Deathstroke's New Boss Fight In Batman: Arkham Knight Is A Fresh Way Of Including The Character

Rather than simply pasting Deathstroke’s character model over another existing boss fight in the game, GPUnity’s mod adds the fight as a brand new gameplay sequence, complete with custom animations and moves.

When the mod releases, you’ll find Deathstroke on the Gotham City Police Department rooftop where you can engage in a fight with him. Since this fight takes place before the tank battle, Batman won’t arrest Deathstroke after defeating him.

GPUnity’s Massive Gameplay Overhaul also makes other changes to Batman: Arkham Knight. For example, enemies are faster and deal more damage. Medic enemies are also armoured, adding more variety, and slow motion for attacks have been removed too.

Meanwhile, GPUnity has also made changes to the open world, including having more active enemies and removing the compass at the top of the HUD.

The mod also makes numerous changes to boss fights, like Two Face, Pyg, and Nightwing, making them more challenging for players who want a slight increase in difficulty.

As for a release date, GPUnity says the realistic date for the mod to be published would be this December, so we’re still looking at around 10 or 11 months to wait before being able to play the mod for ourselves.

Still, given the amount of changes the Massive Gameplay Overhaul mod makes, I’d imagine this will end up being worth the wait and become a highly recommended mod for anyone to have installed for their second playthrough.
