Batman fans absolutely furious as Arkham Knight sequel surfaces online

This sounds so peak

It’s been a rocky couple of months for fans of Batman.

Fair to say, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League was a major miss for Rocksteady Studios.

It didn’t exactly come as a surprise to any of us when the game shut down its servers in January, with the title now only remaining playable offline.

The one redeeming factor is that the game’s final update revealed that Batman and his Justice League colleagues weren’t actually murdered.

Instead, the Suicide Squad targeted clones, opening up the possibility of there being an Arkham Trilogy sequel or reboot.

Excitement regarding that possibility was then amplified when Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier revealed that the studio was actively working on a new single-player Batman instalment.

It’s not clear though whether it is actually a new Arkham game or not, as there are also whispers of a Batman Beyond inspired game.

The latest tidbit to come to light is more concerned with what could’ve been more so than what might be.

Concept art has surfaced of a cancelled Damian Wayne-focused game.

ICYMI: The DCU will soon kick off with the release of Superman.

The Damian Wayne game was intended to be a sequel to Arkham Knight with artist Daniel Simon recently sharing several renders of the character’s intended batcycle from 2015 to his Instagram page, as pointed out by Reddit user Suffering-Servent.

Understandably, fans are furious that this game never came to light with Warner Bros instead choosing to greenlight Suicide Squad and Gotham Knights across its various studios.

“I will forever remain salty that this game was cancelled. A sequel to Arkham Knight inspired by Batman Beyond would have sold gangbusters and they cancelled it for Gotham Knights. What a waste of WB Montreal,” Spider-Fan77 wrote.

“Everything about that game sounds insanely good, and these morons canned it in favour of making Gotham Knights. WB are their own worst enemies,” added markqis2018.

Not to rub salt in the wound, but it’s also believed that the game would’ve included a version of the Nemesis System.

“Man... a Damian Wayne batman would've been so sick,” remarked one user.

With those Batman Beyond whispers arising again, perhaps all hope is not totally lost.
