Batman fans lose it over Batman Beyond game leak

Batman Arkham Beyond sounds far too good to be true, but please let it be

According to a recent leak, Rocksteady Studios may be heading back to their Batman Arkham roots and producing a brand new title based on Batman Beyond.

The news was seemingly first reported on by Techroduce’s Shahid Fareed, following a post by a well-known leaker by the name of Lunatic Ignus on Twitter.

Lunatic Ignus claims that the game will not be based on Batman Beyond’s animation style (by which they assumedly mean that it’ll have a more realistic art style), and that it’s supposed to serve as the first entry in a trilogy.

Perhaps most interestingly however, the leaker claims that the title will be a PlayStation exclusive - possibly even for the PlayStation 6.

It probably goes without saying, but I highly recommend taking this all with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, regardless of the leaker’s track record, this is all based on the word of one person.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League didn't live up to expectation.

However, it does slightly line up with a statement made by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier earlier this month, who stated that “Rocksteady is looking to return to Batman for a single-player game, but according to people familiar with the timeline, the new project is years away from landing.”

Regardless of the leak’s veracity, fans over on the r/BatmanBeyond subreddit couldn’t help but share their excitement at the possibility of a “Batman Arkham Beyond” game.

“If true, I may buy a PlayStation,” commented user batkave, “But honestly, I'd be surprised if it's a permanent exclusive. WB needs a hit.”

“It's a rumour, but I'm hoping it's true,” replied user KuroiGetsuga55.

“Just not the Damian Wayne one they were planning to do after Arkham Knight. Give us Terry.”

And I am right there with them. As a massive, huge fan of the original animated series, I think this is my dream game… which is why I’m not trying to get my hopes up.

Some things are too good to be true for a reason.
