Baldur’s Gate 3 was an RPG that gripped millions, many of whom wouldn’t have considered themselves a fan of turn-based combat.

Somehow the folks at Larian Studios managed to perfectly replicate and modernise the feeling of the classic Dungeons & Dragons in a video game format, and after it won Game Of The Year it’s no surprise we’re all hyped for the studio’s next game.

Before we get there though, Larian recently dropped a surprise for new-gen console owners, one of its older games that still holds up to this day.

Now available for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, Divinity II Original Sin has made a comeback just in time for the next game’s announcement. Interestingly though this isn’t available for those in Japan, likely due to censorship laws.

Often described as one of the greatest RPG games ever made Baldur’s Gate fans will feel right at home with this one, though of course you will encounter different mechanics given that it’s an older game.

As for gameplay, players will gather a group of heroes and set out on a daring new adventure, with the ultimate goal of becoming a god.

While Baldur’s Gate 3 was all about teamwork, companionship and the friends you made along the way, Divinity II Original Sin takes a more all-for-one approach, as “only one of you will have the chance to become a God.”

This means choosing your companions wisely.

It’s great to have such a classic running on new-gen hardware and with all the bells and whistles we’d come to expect from upgrades like this, so dive in if you haven’t got too many RPGs on the go.

The Monolith Finally Revealed

If you were paying attention to the build-up for this year’s Game Awards you’ll have likely had your social media feed plastered with pictures and theories regarding the mysterious desert monolith tied to one of the announcements.

During the show it was revealed that Larian Studios were behind the bizarre PR stunt, and it was all tied to the announcement of a brand-new Divinity game.

No gameplay was shown during the event but we did get a weird but wonderful CGI trailer, and it already looks absolutely bonkers.

The question now is will Larian Studios be able to top what it achieved with Baldur’s Gate 3?

And when the new Divinity game releases will we have yet another Game Of The Year on our hands?
