It’s a pretty exciting time to be an Assassin’s Creed fan right now. Not because anything is actually happening, but because it hopefully will be, soon. 2022 is the 15th anniversary of the franchise (anyone else feel like it should be older?) and sometime next month, we’re set to see “the future of Assassin’s Creed” - many believe it’ll be on 10 September, during Ubisoft Next.
Take a look at the trailer for the newly released Assassin's Creed Valhalla DLC below.
As such, the rumour mill has been churning out all sorts of stuff - many people are expecting that we’ll get a proper reveal for Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which is set to be a live-service game. It does definitely exist, Ubisoft confirmed it, but we’ve not seen anything of the title yet. So, it seems like a solid guess for “the future” of the franchise.

Now though, fans have gone into hype overdrive, as voice actor Roger Craig Smith, known for previously voicing Ezio Auditore da Firenze, posted a photo on Twitter of him stood outside the Ubisoft Montreal studio. Naturally, it begs the question: what was he doing there? With no caption to the picture, the actor probably knew exactly what he was doing, and now the internet is speculating whether he could be returning as Ezio in a new game.
Obviously though, the actor has voiced a huge amount of characters in the past - he’s even the current voice of Sonic the Hedgehog. So, the picture doesn’t necessarily mean he’s voicing Ezio again, but it certainly implies he’s working on a project with Ubisoft - we’ll just have to wait and see.
