The best Assassin’s Creed game (you know I’m right) is getting a beautiful-looking update, but Ubisoft aren’t the ones behind this “next-gen” reskin.

I don’t think I’m being brave when I say that the Assassin’s Creed franchise peaked with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

Now I’m not saying that every Assassin’s Creed game Ubisoft has released since then has been terrible. Some of them have even been pretty good.

It’s just that Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag really felt like they’d nailed the formula, and each new Assassin’s Creed game since then has been chasing that perfectly crafted high.

Well, one gamer is sick of waiting for Ubisoft to remaster the game, so they’ve decided to take the task on themselves.

Over on YouTube, GamesGlow has been uploading a series of videos detailing their attempt to update Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag for modern systems… and it looks incredible.

Naturally, GamesGlow’s work immediately caught the attention of folks on Twitter, who are incredibly impressed with the work that user @TheHiddenOneAC showed off in a post.

“Bro just casually leaked AC Black Flag Remake footage”, commented user @Aren2ouioui.

“oh wow this looks like the AC3 remaster,” replied user @BeansGoodTakes.

“why can't they just release it like this instead of remaking it.”

Unfortunately, I have a bit of bad news for those of you who are excited to get your hands on this update ASAP.

GamesGlow’s graphical update for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag isn’t quite finished yet, and the work they’ve done so far has, apparently, taken them over six months.

No way to tell exactly how long it’ll take for them to complete, but I think we’re all fine with waiting for a good thing.

I just hope they manage to get this out before that long-rumoured remake/remaster project from Ubisoft is finally announced.
