If you thought you’d seen the last of Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s Basim, you thought wrong.
The character is set to return this year in the recently announced free Valley of Memory DLC.
Yesterday, Ubisoft finally unveiled Valley of Memory in full after teasing it earlier this year.
Developed by Ubisoft Paris and Ubisoft Bordeaux, Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory is officially set to land on 18 November.

The expansion takes place shortly before the final events of the main game, with the DLC exploring Basim’s connection to his long lost father Ishaq.
The story will take him to the Saudi Arabian city of AIUIa where Ubisoft has worked with local, historical, and archeological experts to bring the location to life.
“Taking place before the main adventure’s finale, Valley of Memory kicks off when Basim learns that his long-lost father might still be alive in AlUla. Basim decides to go on a journey to see if the rumours hold any truth, only to discover that the valley of AlUla is threatened by a dangerous band of robbers and his father is missing,” the synopsis teases.
“Taking place in an entirely new region and map, Valley of Memory adds a host of new content including a new main quest and new assassination targets, as well as side quests, contracts, and more. Basim can even play the oud now at certain locations once you successfully track down music sheets through parkour challenges,” it continues.

“Valley of Memory also features a unique twist on Assassin’s Creed’s classic black box missions, but that you’ll have to discover for yourself.”
As you can tell, the DLC sounds as if it’s packed with new content; in fact, everything about it sounds brilliant on paper.
Gamers do have one concern though.
Whilst this wasn’t particularly addressed by Ubisoft, the DLC is believed to have come about after the company reached a deal with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, the national wealth fund of the country.

It essentially seeks to diversify the nation’s income, having taken a great interest in gaming as of late.
To see that in action, you need look no further than the fund’s recent $55 billion acquisition of EA.
There’s a concern that the fund could develop too strong a hold on the industry but I digress.
If you want more Mirage, you’ll be able to hop into the hefty Valley of Memory on 18 November at no additional cost.
