Ubisoft’s latest Assassin’s Creed entry has quite an exciting month ahead of it with both a brand-new update and a DLC in the pipeline.
However, it seems as though Ubisoft is not stopping there as another freebie is up for grabs for players. No catch.
First released back in March, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the latest instalment in the beloved Assassin’s Creed franchise with the series taking players to feudal Japan for the first time.
In our review, our very own Ewan Moore called it “a stunning new high point in the series”.

“Assassin’s Creed Shadows isn’t just one of the best games of the year so far, it’s the new yardstick by which all future Assassin’s Creed games should be measured,” he wrote.
“This is an epic, sweeping adventure bolstered by jaw-dropping visuals and a masterful blend of stealth, action, and exploration. You don’t want to miss this one.”
In more recent times, Ubisoft has released a brand-new update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows which includes a level cap increase, upgrades for your hideout, the ability to pass time and even Ezio inspired Project Rewards.
That is live today ahead of Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Claws of Awaji DLC.

Set to release on 16 September, this paid DLC will feature a new region, weapon and abilities as well as new outfits, legendary gear, new enemies and bosses and of course, new story content to get stuck into.
But that is not all!
Announced today, all players of Assassin’s Creed Shadows across all platforms will receive the Bo Staff.
The brand-new weapon will be available for everyone who owns the game and they will not even have to buy and install the Claws of Awaji DLC.

“The Bo Staff will be available to ALL PLAYERS!” The AC: Landmarks Twitter account shared.
“No Claws of Awaji DLC required! Ubisoft Bordeaux wants everyone to enjoy it!”
Bo staffs, more typically known as bō are long wooden staffs that were mainly used in Okinawa.
This Japanese weapon will make the perfect addition to Naoe’s arsenal alongside her katanas, Kusarigama and the Tanto and what could be more satisfying than hitting an enemy over the head with a wooden stick?

To unlock the weapon, Naoe must embark on a quest and join Junjiro in meeting the legendary Bo Master.
It is here that she will be able to learn about the ancient martial arts technique and upon finishing the quest, she will gain access to her very own.
“You get a Bo! And you! And you at the back! Everyone gets a Bo, coming September 16th.”
