Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been one of the most successful Assassin’s Creed games to date, and it’s still going strong.
The game was hit with a wave of hate and bigotry before its release due its choice in protagonists, and 2025 was always going to be a tough year for it to launch as it was followed by Ghost Of Yōtei.
However, while it didn’t sell as well as Ghost Of Yōtei on PlayStation 5, it had the benefit of being available on other platforms and as such, it sold pretty well. It felt like a rare win for Ubisoft, which has received a lot of criticism over the years for introducing RPG elements to its flagship franchise.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows isn’t finished yet either, as post-launch updates have been slowly trickling through giving players more to do, as well as introduce some absurdly good quality-of-life improvements.
Update 1.1.6 Has Landed
The latest is Title Update 1.1.6, which adds three distinct features/changes. The first is a special collaboration between Assassin’s Creed and Attack on Titan, featuring new cosmetics based on the latter anime’s titular protagonists and antagonists.

The second is a new quest titled The Puzzlement. It’s described as a “fun and humorous quest” that sees Naoe and Yasuke find a mysterious door in south Wakasa, with the pair trying all manner of techniques to get it open and see what’s inside. Completing the quest will grant them with new abilities.
Finally Corrupted Castles will be more varied, meaning you’re less likely to encounter one you’ve already played through.

Like all updates, there’s also a collection of bug fixes to sift through, all implemented to give you a better overall gameplay experience.

While the highlight of this update is definitely the Attack on Titan collaboration, I do love it when we get a new quest like The Puzzlement, especially when it’s a fun one that adds to the character of our protagonists.
It sounds like there’s plenty more left to come for Assassin’s Creed Shadows too, hopefully with more sizeable expansions in the future like we’ve seen announced for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
At the time of writing, Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Title Update 1.1.6 isn’t yet available, but it will be later today, 25 November.
The Attack on Titan collaboration is a limited-time event too, expiring on 22 December so make sure you secure all of its goodies before then.
