Following the news that Ubisoft has cancelled the highly anticipated Prince of Persia remake, it also appears as though another batch of games are also on the cutting block.
Last night saw Ubisoft release a report which focused on the future of the studio, as well as all of its upcoming video game releases.
Thanks to a major organisational reset, the Prince of Persia was the major title to receive cancellation, coming as a shock to fans who thought that its release was just around the corner.
However, it is some of Ubisoft’s other titles that have left us with more questions than answers.

For example, this announcement leaves the fate of the much-requested Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake up in the air.
It is worth noting that such a remake has never been officially announced by Ubisoft, but it has definitely been its most rumoured project and if any title was going to be affected by the reshuffle, it would probably be a remake due to its lack of priority.

However, now that the dust has settled somewhat, it seems as though another upcoming Assassin’s Creed title could be affected.
Assassin’s Creed Jade.
A Mobile Game Is On the Chopping Block
Before that, let us remind ourselves of a quote taken from the Ubisoft report.
"Ubisoft has discontinued 6 games that do not meet the new enhanced quality as well as more selective portfolio prioritization criteria at Group level. These include Prince of Persia The Sands of Time remake as well as 4 unannounced titles, including 3 new IP’s, and a mobile title."
Although once again, nothing has been confirmed, many fans believe that the “mobile title” may be referring to Assassin’s Creed Jade, a free-to-play, open-world RPG entry for iOS and Android.
Set in 3rd-century BC China, Assassin’s Creed Jade was originally aiming for a late-2023 release before it was pushed back.
Now with that major delay already under its belt, many Ubisoft fans believe that this could be the mobile game on the chopping block.
“It’s not impossible, but if Jade was the cancelled mobile game I think they would have mentioned it, as Jade was already formally announced,” one user over on r/assassinscreed shared.
“That said, considering what is going on with that game, I wouldn’t be surprised if it does end up getting cancelled.”
Another user agreed, comparing it to fellow wuxia action-adventure RPG Where Winds Meet.
“With Where Winds Meet being such a hit nobody will need "Jade" any longer, so I agree with the prediction of it being most likely cancelled. Which sucks.. I was a beta tester, it looked pretty,” they shared.
Of course, Assassin’s Creed Jade has not been officially cancelled but following the upcoming Ubisoft reshuffle, it is definitely not safe.
