Assassin’s Creed fans are in agreement that Black Flag’s sea shanties were ‘magic in a bottle’, and I really can’t argue with that.

If you’re a fan of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, it’s good news for you because insiders are convinced that the game is getting a remake. There are believed to be a whopping 11 Assassin’s Creed projects in the works, including the potential Black Flag remake. It’s likely several years away from release seeing as Ubisoft’s upcoming release slate is absolutely stacked. Mirage is set to land on 12 October, and we finally know just how long the game will take to complete. Beyond that, Ezio Auditore will return in Assassin’s Creed Nexus while Codename Red is set to be the final RPG entry in the franchise. Expect a whopper. In the meantime though, fans are discussing just how much Black Flag’s sea shanties slap.

Take a look at the trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Reddit user kingofallnorway took to the site to write, “I miss the heart and soul that the Black Flag sailing [and] sea shanties introduced. Ubisoft caught magic in a bottle with Black Flag. Hard to believe we're coming up on 10 years since our beloved Black Flag came out. I'll be replaying for the anniversary. [...] The sea shanties captured my heart back then and still hold a special place there even now.”

Plenty of fellow fans agreed. “Yeah, the shanties are great. The game has such a good story,” Kaizor0329 said, while nonadventures added, “It took forever to finish because I spent all my time playing Pirate Simulator and ignoring the main game.” LordScott91 commented, “I listen to those shanties religiously man. So f**king good.”

Fans are hoping that the sea shanties will be present in the rumoured remake. In fact, they don’t want Ubisoft to alter the soundtrack at all and it’s perfectly possible that that may be the case. Just take a look at The Last of Us Part I. I’ll leave you with one important question: What will we do with a drunken sailor?
