Ubisoft has revealed how long it’ll take to beat Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and it’s thankfully much shorter than previous entries.

Recent Assassin’s Creed games, specifically the RPG trilogy, significantly increased the scope of the series with enormous open worlds, neverending quests, and a lot of playtime, especially if you’re a completionist.

Take a look at the story trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage below

While the first RPG game in the series, Assassin’s Creed Origins, had a generously sized map, its successors, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, took the open-world exploration to stupidly large levels. This proved too much even for the most dedicated fans, which is why many were thankful to learn the next game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will have a much more confined map to explore.

A smaller map means less to do, especially without as many side quests as the last three games, which had led many to wonder how long it’ll take to beat the upcoming title.

Recently, Ubisoft addressed the game’s length through an interview with the YouTuber Julien Chièze, who spoke to the lead producer of Assassin’s Creed Mirage Fabian Salomon. So how long is the game? Well, Salomon had this to say: "The latest playtimes we've received average at around 20–23 hours. That can go up to 25–30 hours for the completionists, and we'll say that those who will be rushing the game will be around 20 hours."

That is miles shorter than the previous games and we’re thankful for it. Taking a look at HowLongToBeat times for the main story of Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla, those games clock in at 30 hours, 45 hours and 60.5 hours respectively. That’s not even counting side content, plus the DLCs that were released for all three.

With Assassin’s Creed Mirage promising to take the series back to its roots of close-quarters stealth and combat, I’m sure many players will be thankful to play a game that won’t take them weeks to finish.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will launch on the 12th of October for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
