ARC Raiders has been hit with a devastating cyber attack that severely impacts gameplay, and there may be more on the way.
Since its launch in October 2025, ARC Raiders, developed by the indie team at Embark Studios, was one of the breakout games of that year, and its momentum has continued to roll into 2026.
However, the momentum has hit a major bump in the roads and it’s not great news for fans.
At launch, according to SteamDB, ARC Raiders achieved over 481,000 concurrent players, and over the last 24 hours, it’s over 281,000. Unfortunately, exact numbers on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S aren't available, but I would imagine that both consoles have a similar ratio of players.

That's a lot of players who will have been impacted by the ongoing Arc Raiders cyber attacks.
What’s Going on in ARC Raiders?
As brought to our attention by Reddit user Turbostrider27 (via Eurogamer), Embark Studios has been hit with a flood of DDoS attacks that are “extensive” and “coordinated”.
The fact that Embark Studios has been hit, not a specific game means, that the popular free-to-play shooter, The Finals is also at risk.
The DDoS attacks were addressed by Embark community lead Julia Ossen on the official ARC Raiders Discord.
"Hey Raiders, both ARC Raiders and The Finals have been under extensive, coordinated DDoS attacks.
The strike team has been working hard on mitigations and solutions to fix the problem, and we are making good progress - but at this point in time, the attacks are still ongoing,” read the statement.

What Does This Mean For ARC Raiders Players?
The cyber attacks at Embark Studios means players are facing server issues, with some players reporting they're unable to reconnect to or abandon matches
“I was playing last night when this hit. It was pretty gnarly. Took about 5-10 minutes of intense rubber banding to run 300m to extract, took that as a sign to log off for the night,” wrote FuNiOnZ.
“Same, except we didn't make it out. Some wasps surrounded us and gunned us down while we tried to run away, and just kept rubber banding back to them. I lost a Bobcat I had just gotten,” replied Caasi72.
“Damn. I can’t comment on this specific game, but it’s been happening a lot with Final Fantasy XIV. It seems like it’s every other day it happens, or at least it was a few weeks ago,” added Medici1694.
At the time of writing, there has been no reason provided for why the DDoS attacks have happened, and, with them being a fairly common occurrence in the modern age of technology, I would be surprised if this is the last we see of them.
Hopefully, Embark Studios can fix this problem sooner rather than later, so that ARC Raiders and The Finals players can enjoy the games.
