Picture this, you’re driving back from work after a brutally long day that’s dragged on and on, you’re tired, and just want to get back home and put your feet up. You turn onto your street and look up at the sign, Snorlax Drive, and everything feels better.

That’s the case in Las Vegas, which currently has five streets named after popular Pokémon characters, all with the attention of making people smile when they come home. The streets were named by Harmony Homes construction manager Andrea Miller, who went to her children for suggestions when she struggled to pick names for the new locations.

After what we can also presume to be careful deliberation, Squirtle, Charmander, Charizard, Jigglypuff and Snorlax were the lucky Pokémon chosen to brighten up residents’ days.

Andrea Miller spoke with KLAS 9 News NOW about why Pokémon were selected for the new street names, with Miller responding: ““It’s really, really hard to name streets in this town … When I hear Jigglypuff, I giggle. When you’re coming home from work and you had a bad day and you have to turn on Jigglypuff Lane, that will make you smile.

“Little kids and diehard Pokémon people, they love it,”

A touching sentiment, and perfect for Pokémon fans who are looking for the perfect place to move to. Imagine having to give your friend your address and saying “Yeah so it’s 123 Jigglypuff Drive, Las Vegas”, superb. We can only imagine it’ll be quite the hotspot for Pokémon Go players in the future too, hopefully with some rare finds to coincide with the names.

Pokémon just keeps expanding its worldwide takeover, with thousands and thousands of fans partaking in the countless video games, TV shows, rare trading card collecting, TCG tournaments and more. It’s gotten so big that Japan recently ran out of the latest Pokémon cards, leading to restrictions from local vendors on how many packs can be bought by one person.

It’s also lovely to see how the beloved series has touched the real world, and hopefully, more creative street names will follow, surely Pikachu and Eevee deserve a street of their own.
