With how brilliant the recent Insomniac Spider-Man games were, you could be forgiven for forgetting just how solid early games featuring the superhero were, particularly if you aren't as long in the tooth as I am.
If you never got the chance to play them, the original Spider-Man, and its sequel Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro, were brilliant examples of the potential of the character in games, with both pushing the PlayStation 1 to its absolute limits.
It seems like not everybody has forgotten just how important those games are, as they continue to play and learn every little detail they can about what they have to offer.
That brings us to today, where one fan shared a video on Instagram that has the entire community in a flap. Bobbyfan85 is a user who posted a video from Enter Electro that shows a deleted scene where Spider-Man interacts with Thor over the stricken body of Electro.

The user included a caption explaining exactly how he managed to source the video, saying, "Earlier today I read an article that said this "Spider-Man: Enter Electro" video was lost media. I knew I had it on one of my old hard drives, and sure enough I found it! Says I downloaded it on Oct 16, 2001. Glad I never delete anything!"
Widely considered to be lost media in recent times, this reveal is both genuinely fun to watch, and an important little piece of gaming history to preserve.
The responses on Reddit reflected as much, with many keen to see the games brought to the modern day in some form.
"Ah man, Rino Romano's Spidey is just utterly nostalgic. Also yeah I recall someone talking about this a year ago. He'd figured out the cameo of Thor was real but the footage was lost to time. Cool to finally see it. Man, Spider-Man 1/2 (The PS1 games to be clear) need a modern port such classics. (2 has some real problems but I stand by it's a classic)," one read.

Responses under the Instagram post were equally excited, with one saying, "After all these years it’s been finally found what a perfect day for lost media enjoyers."
Even after all these years, it's nice to see that the game's remain beloved for a generation of players. There hasn't been any major indication from Sony that the games will return in a more modern form, but revelations like this will certainly help.
