Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has finally received some new DLC over three years after its launch, and it’s a banger too.
As all Spidey fans will be aware, the infamous wall-crawler will be returning to the big screen later this year for the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe flick, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The film follows a struggling Peter Parker coming to terms with the events of the previous film, Spider-Man: No Way Home. After a multiversal mess-up, he rectifies a coming catastrophe by enlisting the help of Doctor Strange, who wipes the memory of Peter from everyone in their universe, perhaps even the universe beyond.
In Brand New Day, Peter will face several new threats, with the main villain believed to be Jean Grey from the X-Men, as well as secondary antagonists such as Scorpion and The Hand. Spider-Man will also cross paths with other Marvel heroes like The Punisher and Hulk.
To commemorate what could very well be the best Spider-Man film we’ve had in years, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be dropping a free DLC add-on just days before the film’s release in cinemas.

On 28 July, the Fresh Start Suit will be added to the game as a suit for Peter Parker’s Spider-Man, modelled after the home-made outfit you’ll see in the film. You can catch a glimpse of the skin at the end of the trailer below.
#SpiderManBrandNewDay hits theatres July 31 and drops a brand new Fresh Start Suit in Marvel's #SpiderMan2PS5 July 28.

No new suits will be added for Miles Morales.
While it’s purely a cosmetic add-on, it’s quite the special occasion for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which famously let down fans by having no major DLC drops after launch.
DLC expansions were supposedly in the pipeline and would have seen players face off against new Spider-Man villains like The Beetle and Carnage, but for whatever reason, they were scrapped. They’re more than likely being reworked for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, which is believed to be in early development.
The Fresh Start Suit might just be a skin but beggars can’t be choosers. We finally have new content for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Don’t jump to any conclusions, though. This doesn’t mean Insomniac Games has changed its mind and plans to start supporting the game again. Marvel’s The Wolverine will be its top priority at the moment.
After you’ve swung around New York for a bit with this slick new suit, you’ll be encouraged to swing on over to any supporting cinema on 31 July, which is when Spider-Man: Brand New Day will officially release.
