Anyone who has even the most fleeting interest in RPGs will likely have played Skyrim at some point over the last 14 years, with Bethesda's iconic game now serving as the benchmark in the genre for many.
For those of you who prefer more social gaming experiences, it may not have historically appealed in quite the same way, with no official developer support for multiplayer of any kind.
The game's extensive modding community hasn't let that stop them, though, with Skyrim Together available for those who want to invite their friends onto the Fus-Ro-Dahncefloor.
In the developer's own words, "The aim of the mod is to develop a true Skyrim multiplayer experience that brings online multiplayer into this otherwise strictly single player game. Our focus is to create a co-op like experience for about 2-8 players, not an MMO but we have tested with 30+ players."

The original version of the mod was great in its own right, but the Skyrim Together Reborn mod has taken the experience to a whole new level. First and foremost, the intention is to play through the game together, so there is as much synchronisation as possible.
Quests are completely tuned to progress as a group, whilst NPC dialogue is controlled by the party leader and appears simultaneously on other player's screens once dialogue has been initiated.
At the same time, inventories and container contents are also synced, meaning players can look at the same chest at the same time in order to loot and store items simultaneously.
Even more impressively, the team behind the mod has rebuilt the combat from the ground up to ensure everyone in the party is attacked equally by enemies, rather than the party leader having to soak up all the damage.
The death system has also been changed, with players instantly respawning near to the site of their death (if outside) or by the entrance to a dungeon if you die whilst instanced.
It's difficult to overstate quite how technologically impressive the Skyrim Together Reborn mod is, with much of the game rebuilt from the ground up in order to accommodate the extensive list of features on offer within it.
Equally, if you're one of those people who has played through the base game a million times (It's me. I'm one of those people), then this might be the best way to refresh the experience entirely whilst chatting to a few friends.
