Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer finally lets you raise hell with chooms

Cancelled multiplayer returns!

Believe it or not, Cyberpunk 2077 has a multiplayer mode and fans are over the moon.

Cyberpunk 2077 certainly had a rough launch in 2020, especially regarding the game's last-gen versions. Thankfully, developers CD Projekt RED worked tirelessly delivering many content and improvement updates to ensure that Cyberpunk 2077 lived up to its potential, becoming one of the best sci-fi RPGs in recent times.

Check out the Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen update trailer below!

“Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure RPG set in the megalopolis of Night City, where you play as a cyberpunk mercenary wrapped up in a do-or-die fight for survival,” reads the synopsis of the game. “The relationships you forge and the choices you make will shape the story and the world around you. Legends are made here. What will yours be?”

Cyberpunk 2077 was set to have a fully functioning multiplayer mode. Sadly, as a result of the rough 2020 launch, CDPR decided to cancel the multiplayer so that the team could go all in on improving the single-player experience, which has proven to be a wise choice.

However, as we all know, even when it comes to cancelled games and modes, if the online community wants something to happen, the chances are it will. Last year, we learned that talented modders were reviving the cancelled Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer and now, that mode is nearly here in its full form.

Created by a modder called CyberMP (and no, that’s not a member of Parliament), the Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer mode is currently playable in its beta form, allowing you to get a taste of causing all sorts of mayhem in Night City with your chooms otherwise known as friends.

The Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer mode not only lets you explore Night City with other players, but you can get into gun fights, race vehicles on the streets and more.

“Excited to play this someday. Please keep up the hard work for us all, choom!” said LayedBackGamers in the comments section of the video uploaded to YouTube.

“It's amazing what modders can accomplish. Awesome work” exclaimed alphatonic1481.

“CDPR need this guy, he single-handedly coded multiplayer into the game,” declared CrustaceanAllergyEnjoyer.

“This game will age like a fine wine because of peeps like you,” praised CHOOM64. “Thank you for your dedication towards a better Night City!”

Sadly, as is the nature of most mods, this multiplayer offering is a PC deal only. But who knows, perhaps CDPR might revive the multiplayer in the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel.
