Although Cyberpunk 2077’s official multiplayer mode was cancelled following the game’s rough launch back in 2020, this upcoming project aims to bring back a feature many of us were hoping for.

With CD Projekt Red cancelling development on Cyberpunk 2077’s multiplayer mode in order to focus on the game’s main single-player experience, many fans were disappointed that they couldn’t explore Night City with friends.

However, that time may finally be here courtesy of a mod project known as CyberMP.

Developed by a group of modders over the last couple of years, CyberMP is an upcoming multiplayer mod for Cyberpunk 2077 which will bring a GTA Online-esque mode to the 2020 RPG.

Although it won’t allow for players to join together to complete any quests or story, it will allow them to enter into a lobby alongside other players and cause some outright chaos.

From gun fights to races, CyberMP already shows that there will be hours of fun to be had despite still being in its pre-alpha stage.

Additionally, thanks to a nine-minute video from YouTuber JuiceHead, we can now take a look at some official gameplay from the mod.

The video shows JuiceHead tell us about their experience with the mod over the course of a couple of days. Despite some crashes and bugs, they enjoyed their time and especially loved getting to race other players through the streets of Night City.

The unofficial multiplayer mod is still a while from release but it is clear that it is the Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer experience we all wish we had had at the game’s launch.

For now, players can check out a hidden room with a secret NPC hidden within Cyberpunk 2077 which has been discovered after all these years.
