Despite looking like a harmless fantasy RPG on the surface, spend enough time within the lands of Skyrim and you will soon discover that plenty of darkness and horrors lurk beneath the surface.
Released back in 2011 and quickly cementing itself as a modern-day classic, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still beloved to this day and with The Elder Scrolls VI showing no signs of rearing its head any time soon, plenty of us still find our home within the land of Skyrim.
It is due to the levels of replayability that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim offers that players are able to discover hidden locations, items, characters, and dialogues despite being many playthroughs into their journey.
Well, that was certainly the case for retroreverieX over on r/skyrim who shared an interesting discovery just last year.

So much so, that they titled it the one place in Skyrim that they “wish” they had never found.
The location is none other than Frostflow Lighthouse which is located on the coast of Winterhold.
What first looks to be an assuming, yet derelict lighthouse soon reveals untold horrors the more you explore inside and it is just one example of the true horrors that have taken place throughout the sprawling lands of Skyrim.
“I came across Frostflow Lighthouse while exploring the coast, thinking I’d found a quiet place to rest,” the user shared.

“Instead, I walked into a nightmare—blood everywhere, and the bodies of a whole family left behind. But the worst part?
The ghost of the lighthouse keeper’s wife appeared right in front of me, her face full of fear and sadness.”
The user goes on to share how they soon bolted from the location but wonders if there is more to the story than first meets the eye.
In typical Bethesda fashion, there is more than meets the eye as a tragic event did take place in Frostflow Lighthouse.

It was once owned by a Redguard couple, Ramati and Habd, whose dream it was to own the seaside tower and live happily as a family with their young children.
However, it seems as though the dream did not last long as visiting the lighthouse will provide you with scenes of a violent struggle with Ramati laying in the middle of the floor with a Falmer War Axe protruding from her chest.
By searching the nearby area, players can stumble across various diaries which detail what exactly happened to the poor couple and it is definitely a story that you will want to check out for yourself.
However, for user DWill88, it is a location worth visiting.

“I enjoyed it,” they shared.
“Was very dark by Skyrim standards but you do get some vengeance and provide some peace at the end. Plus a pretty cool passive buff if you do the thing. Won’t spoil more than that.”
