Trevor is pretty indisputably the most memorable character in GTA V. Though Michael and Franklin are important parts of the narrative jigsaw, and fantastic characters in their own right, Trevor's deranged and dangerous behaviour turned him into an instant fan favourite.
The canonical ending for GTA V sees all three characters survive and take out their foes in a blaze of glorious vengeance. It's very cool, and it was nice not to have to deal with the heart-wrenching moment of having to watch one of them die on screen after all that effort (sorry if you got one of the other endings).
So, with Trevor still alive in the GTA universe, thoughts are now turning to whether he could make an appearance in GTA VI, and what might happen to him if he does.
Steven Ogg, whose performance brought Trevor's character to life, believes that killing him off early could be the way to go. "It would be fun if Trevor appeared in it just to be killed at the beginning," Ogg claimed in a conversation with Screen Rant, before going on to say, "I think that would be cool, because it also acknowledges the fans of like, 'Hey, thank you.' Pass the torch, stomp Trevor's head in, and sort of put an end to that and allow a new generation to take over."

Over on Reddit, fans debated that potential future, with opinion split down the middle on what to do with Trevor.
"Nah. I'd say just leave the character alone. We don't need another pointless main character death," one said.
"Considering how annoyed Ogg is by the character and wants nothing to do with him, simply calling him 'Trevor actor' and not even including his real name is hilarious. Also, am I the only one who would actually prefer if GTA 6 doesn't even reference any of the previous games? I really want it to be its own distinct thing," another added.
Others think it's a solid plan, especially given Trevor's violent past, saying "To be honest it would be brutal but kinda badass if it was the Lost MC that kills him in a similar fashion to Johnny."

Whatever does end up happening to Trevor, his position as one of the most iconic characters in the history of the series is secure and there's little chance of Rockstar ruining that legacy, even if they do something really out of the box.
