GTA 6 fans torn as Michael's fate revealed in new trailer

GTA 6 fans have received possible confirmation about Michael’s fate, and they’re torn on what this could mean for the character’s future.

Following the GTA 6 Trailer 2 release, Rockstar Games has released a load of new screenshots and footage detailing various aspects of the upcoming game.

These screenshots show more of Vice City and Leonida State, with fans being able to get a proper look at the environments and characters they’ll meet throughout the story.

With Rockstar Games being famous for its attention to detail, even in pre-release marketing, fans are naturally digging into this new material to find hidden clues and easter eggs.

One fan in particular seems to have found an in-game DVD of Meltdown, the movie that GTA 5 protagonist Michael helped to produce during that game’s story.

Here's the image in question. Honestly, I don't know people spot these things sometimes.

Fans will remember Michael’s involvement with Meltdown being a key plot point in the latter half of the game, in which he teams up with Vinewood producer Solomon Richards to stop attempts to halt the movie’s production.

According to GTA 5, Meltdown received mixed reviews from critics but made a killing at the box office.

Judging by the GTA 6 screenshot, the movie was clearly popular enough to be still stocked on store shelves 13 years later.

“I wonder if he’ll get mentioned during the story,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “By the time the game comes out Michael will have been a producer for 13 years I think.”

“No way Meltdown can be Michael's only movie,” wrote another. “We have to have at least 2 more films produced by him at this point.”

A third comment wrote: “There is gonna be Cinemas once again in GTA 6 so I 100% believe that in some movies the ending credit will mention Michael De Santa as the Producer.”

Of course, it’s also worth noting that Michael surviving the events of GTA 5 would also confirm that Ending B is not the canon ending to that game.

GTA 6 is currently scheduled to release on 26th May, 2026. So, it’ll be a while yet until we get confirmation if Michael appears in the game or not.
