Resident Evil Insert Coin Review - Look Good In Raccoon City

Gear worthy of any Resident Evil fan

Founded in 2010, Insert Coin has allowed us to ‘get our geek’ on with officially licensed video game clothing and accessories made with high-quality materials, which is why I’ve been a returning customer for many of those years.

Not only being a fan of Insert Coin but especially Resident Evil, I had the pleasure of reviewing officially licensed Capcom merch for my favourite survival horror franchise.

First up, we have the RPD Backpack inspired by my favourite game of all time, Resident Evil 2 (1998). If only Leon S. Kennedy had this bag when he was venturing through the corridors of the Raccoon Police Department, he would have had plenty more inventory space to store a rocket launcher, mini-gun and a few more mixed herbs. Oh, and a crank, never forget the crank.

With dimensions of 52cm x 29cm x 16cm, and an estimated 25 litres, there’s plenty of storage space to take all the tech and accessories you need for a daily commute, as well as food, drink and so forth. The nylon and polyester materials feel very sturdy and well put together. Meaning, as long as you look after this awesome bag, you should get years of quality use.

It has a total of four storage compartments, the main area of storage (with an additional space ideal for a laptop inside), two more on the front and one on either side. What’s more, on each side of the bag, it has straps to tighten the backpack, making it perfect to compress and store in luggage compartments on a train or plane.

Next up, we have the Lady Alcina Dimitrescu Blanket. At least according to pre-launch marketing and internet buzz, Lady D was the star of Resident Evil Village. Apparently, we played as a character named Ethan Winters, but all I really remember is being chased by the giant “vampire lady”.

Befitting of Lady Dimitrescu’s stature, this cosy and comfortable blanket comes in at roughly 150cm x 130cm in size. Best of all, it feels high-quality and is perfect for snuggling during those cold winter days.

The print on the blanket also looks fantastic, unlike faded and stretched-out prints of cheaper fleece products. The image is one that fans of Resident Evil Village will be very familiar with. It’s when Ethan Winters is first captured and wakes up to see Lady Dimitrescu, and her three daughters, Bela, Daniela and Cassandra glaring at him menacingly.

Before trying on the long-sleeved Resident Evil Umbrella Corp t-shirt, I was sceptical that it might not be true to size. After all, I think we’ve all experienced buying a t-shirt that was way smaller than advertised or, in some cases, bigger. Thankfully, this is true to size, and I couldn't be happier. Made with 60% polyester and 40% cotton, it felt comfortable to wear with enough breathing space for it not to feel too tight.

Resident Evil fans will recognise the iconic Umbrella Corp branding and its white and red colour scheme. The sleeves are a bright “corporate zombie red” with a “special ops black” on the centre body that helps the Umbrella Corps logo pop.

Finally, we have seven of the Resident Evil enamel pins. Four of the pins represent the house crests of Resident Evil Village, namely, Beneviento (35mm), Dimitrescu (35mm), Heisenberg (35mm) and Moreau (35mm), all servants of Mother Miranda.

I also have a Blue Medallion (30mm), which fans will recognise from Resident Evil 4, as well as Umbrella Corp (35mm) and S.T.A.R.S (35mm) logos. Each of the enamel pin badges feels strong and will look great, whether you pin them on a jacket, bag or on display with your favourite Resident Evil collectables.

There’s a good reason why I’ve been a customer of Insert Coin for so many years; all of its products are made to a very high standard that fans of a respective video game brand will no doubt love. Resident Evil fans won't be disappointed with any purchases made with the products featured in this review.
