So, everyone’s talking about The Oscars right now, although admittedly mostly not about the awards themselves (you know exactly what I’m talking about - read more here). That aside, it’s obviously a massive night for the film industry, and also hasn’t been short of surprises when it comes to the winners.
The 94th Academy Awards had a bit of a twist - as reported by ComicBook, for the first time, this year, the awards honoured both a fan-favourite film and also a fan-favourite scene, dubbed the Oscars Cheer Moment. This was run in partnership with Twitter, which allowed fans to vote by tweeting out with a special hashtag. Anyway, the results are obviously in by this point, and it was a scene from Zack Snyder's Justice League which took home the Cheer Moment prize.
Check out the trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League below to look at the film that fans are all talking about.
To be specific, the scene that fans have crowned as their favourite is the moment that The Flash enters the Speed Force in the 2021 film. It had some pretty tough competition, too - it managed to beat out the scene where the three spideys team up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Endgame’s Avengers assemble moment. Effie White singing ‘I’m Telling You’ in Dreamgirls came in fourth, and the iconic scene of Neo dodging those bullets in The Matrix was fifth.
The unique thing about this fan vote was that the scenes (clearly) didn’t even have to be from films released in the past year, meaning the achievement is even more impressive, when you think about it. Sadly, it’s not a “real” Oscar award as such, but it’s still super cool for viewers to be able to weigh in on a section of the awards themselves.

Unfortunately for Spider-Man fans, No Way Home ended up going home empty handed - the film was nominated for one award, Best Visual Effects, but lost to Dune. Not only that, but it also came in fourth on the fan-favourite film vote - losing to yet another Zack Snyder movie, Army of the Dead. Ouch. Better luck next time, eh?
