If you’re someone who feels like they’re actually on top of all the games that have been unleashed upon us this year, I envy you.

Seriously, if we weren’t already busy enough with the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Diablo IV, we have Final Fantasy XVI right around the corner and Starfield lurking on the horizon with its absurd amount of planets to explore. And that’s just the 2023 games - as always, subscription services are constantly flooding us with older freebies that are also too good to miss.

If you’re subscribed to PlayStation Plus, you can currently grab Trek to Yomi as one of June’s Essential-tier free games. Take a look at the trailer below.

As ComicBook reports, right now, those subscribed to Xbox Live Gold can claim the excellent action-adventure The Vale: Shadow of the Crown at no extra cost. In case you’re unfamiliar, the title was developed by indie studio Falling Squirrel, and puts players into the shoes of a blind adventurer. The audio-based game is fully accessible to those who are visually impaired - it was nominated for the Innovation in Accessibility award at The Game Awards 2021, and although it lost to Forza Horizon 5, it later won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Video Game Narrative.

“The Vale: Shadow of the Crown is a story driven, action-adventure that utilises the full potential of 3D audio and haptic controller feedback to deliver visceral gameplay that shatters the barrier between player and character,” the game’s synopsis on the Microsoft Store reads. “As an audio based game, The Vale sets out to breathe new life into medieval combat and provide a truly novel experience for visually impaired and sighted gamers alike.”

If you’re already subscribed to Xbox Live Gold, you can claim The Vale: Shadow of the Crown for free right now - you have until 15 July to do so. Once it’s claimed, you can play it at any time (assuming that you’re still subscribed to the service).
