New Witcher Story Pits Geralt Against The Three Little Pigs

New Witcher Story Pits Geralt Against The Three Little Pigs

A new Witcher comic book series has been announced, which will apparently take inspiration from old fairytales.

Dear ol’ Geralt of Rivia has faced all sorts of enemies in his adventures, from the big bad Emhyr var Emreis, to the infamous anti-cheat monster. However, as reported by Polygon, it seems our silver-haired hero’s next adventure will see him face off against, uh, fairytale creatures. For some reason.

For the next Witcher game, we believe that Ciri deserves some of the spotlight for once - take a look below.

The Witcher: The Ballad of Two Wolves is an upcoming comic book series, and seems to take inspiration from both The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood tales of old. “Hailed as the greatest monster slayer - the infamous Witcher Geralt is beckoned to the town of Grimmwald,” the official synopsis reads (via Dark Horse Comics). “When a strange occurrence stirs murmurs of a werewolf on the prowl, [rumours] spread about the peculiar arrival of three Piglet sisters. With a grand mystery and a monster to kill, Dandelion may just find the inspiration he needs to write the perfect ballad.”

A total of four covers have been revealed for the first issue, which releases on 21 December, and while they all undoubtably have their secrets to unpack, one of them shows Geralt brandishing his sword against the piggies, who don’t exactly appear to be friendly. Maybe Geralt single handedly blew their houses down? If so, the rage is understandable. We’ll just have to wait and see what the context is when the comic releases in a few months’ time.
