The Witcher 3 meets Assassin's Creed as open world RPG sets early access date

This long-awaited sequel with nods to The Witcher 3 and Assassin’s Creed is set to arrive in early access in just a couple of months and fans are understandably over the moon.

GreedFall was a 2019 action RPG from developers Spiders set in a new world seeping with magic. With riches, lost secrets and fantastical creatures to discover, the expansive open-world experience saw you become part of a living, evolving world where you could influence the course of its very history.

Now five years on and its sequel GreedFall 2: The Dying World is set for release and its developers have taken to Twitter to share its upcoming early access date.

“Get ready, carants! Early Access begins on September 24, 2024,” the announcement reads alongside a short teaser trailer.

The synopsis for GreedFall 2: The Dying World states, “Dive back into the unique world of GreedFall again in an even deeper RPG experience. Uprooted from the island of your birth, find your freedom, explore the old continent and forge your destiny through alliances, scheming and battles!”

With just a few weeks to go before it enters early access, fans are gearing up to dive back into the epic RPG. However, with GreedFall currently sitting at a “mixed” review on Steam, others are eager to see the sequel be a vast improvement from its predecessor.

Regardless, there are plenty of positive reviews for GreedFall including one that reads: “Greedfall is a very good AA product. It has atmosphere, character development, intriguing main story and good combat system.”

Combining the fantastical creatures reminiscent of those found in The Witcher 3 and the expansive open-world found in the latest Assassin’s Creed title, GreedFall 2: The Dying World is set to combine the best of both worlds and there isn’t long before you can dive right in.
