It’s been a while since we’ve last seen anything on the highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 but alas, we’ve now been treated to a new gameplay trailer.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 was first revealed during The Game Awards in 2021 and it’s been a patient wait for fans of the Games Workshop tabletop-inspired series. Thankfully, it’s been worth the wait because not only have we been treated to a new gameplay trailer but a multiplayer mode has been revealed, giving us serious Gears of War vibes (Gears is inspired by Space Marine but you get what I mean).

Developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment: “Mankind is in peril. The Imperium needs you. Embody the superhuman skill and brutality of a Space Marine, the greatest of the Emperor’s warriors, unleashing deadly abilities and devastating weaponry to obliterate the relentless Tyranid hordes,” reads the synopsis of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
The gameplay trailer revealed during the Warhammer Skulls Festival online event showcases the three-player co-op mode as well as its six-versus-six PvP offering. Its co-op mode sees you team up with friends to slay the sinister Xenos while the PvP offers six character classes as well as the Annihilation, Seize Ground and Capture & Control match types.
What’s more, players will be able to customise their Space Marines to their heart's content offering the choice of armour, colours, decals and much more. Saber Interactive also says that the accompanying season pass will offer “even more cosmetics” if that tickles your fancy, as well as new missions, gear and enemies.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be released on 9 September 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. We’ll keep you posted when we get treated to even more gameplay.
