First released over a decade ago, Battlefield 4 may not have featured the most engaging campaign out of all of the Battlefield entries but thanks to its hit multiplayer mode, the game was considered a commercial success.
Released in 2013 as the seventh main instalment in DICE’s Battlefield franchise and acting as a sequel to 2011’s Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4 took place during the fictional “War of 2020” as tensions between Russia and the United States hit an all-time high.
Although the single-player campaign offers players everything they had come to expect in a Battlefield entry, it was its multiplayer that contributed to its success.
However, a recent release is giving players the urge to replay Battlefield 4’s single-player campaign thanks to an impressive graphics overhaul.

This comes courtesy of Youtuber Digital Dreams who has managed to push Battlefield 4 to its graphical limits by making it run at 8K and 60fps.
With ray tracing and ultra graphics on the RTX 5090, you would never imagine that the game was well over a decade old and fans were treated to over 13 minutes of gameplay footage to check out just how incredible the game looks.
Digital Dreams, who dedicates their entire channel to pushing the boundaries of graphics in some of our favourite games, just released this video for Battlefield 4 and we can only imagine it was thanks to the current success of Battlefield 6 which is in its beta phase before it releases fully in October.
As you can imagine, fans were quick to share their thoughts in the comments and it seems as though old is gold.

“Better than BF6,” one comment reads.
Another agreed, adding, “BF4 > BF6.”
For one other user, seeing this video evoked some nostalgia.
“BF4,” they shared alongside a heart emoji. “I miss the old OG maps on multiplayer.”

With Battlefield 6 set to launch in just a couple of months, Battlefield 4 will become a distant memory but with a showcase such as the one provided by Digital Dreams, we may just see some people return to the good old days.
