DSKoopa, a Seattle-based Twitch streamer who often sets up streams inside his retro gaming store, has spoken out about his fears after an armed robbery took place and the alleged thief was a man who he had met earlier on a livestream hosted on 24 October.

Pink Gorilla Games is the oldest retro video game store in the Pacific Northwest and, in spite of previous robberies, DSKoopa is reluctant to relocate as it is a major tourist hotspot in the city. Unfortunately, it looks like the team might have to for their own safety following this traumatic incident. On the evening of 24 October, employee Jordan Carson told Fox News that a man dressed in dark clothes and wearing a mask entered the store. A man of this description was seen inside Pink Gorilla Games in a livestream hosted by DSKoopa earlier that day.

According to surveillance footage, the man walked through the store, then brought his items to the counter, and asked for the PlayStation 3 in the display case behind Carson. Carson told him his total however, instead of paying, the man only asked the employee for a bag. Another employee, Ash, was in the store, but Carson realised that the man was carrying a gun. "It was very casual, he had his hands in his pocket the whole time, it was a subtle motion, but it got the job done," said Carson, and the man continued to say that his brother was unwell in hospital. "It was an easy choice to give him what he wanted," explained Carson, concerned for the safety of himself and Ash in that moment.

The alleged thief walked away with the PS3, a collection of Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that he asked Carson and Ash to take out of their cases and the register of cash. "It pisses me off to get taken advantage of," added Carson in the interview. "It's the cost of having something people want and having a good price, sadly it opens you up to thieves and people who would take advantage."

DSKoopa has spoken out about the events on social media and that he feels it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt. "I couldn’t care less about what was lost. I don’t even know the total, haven’t taken the time to look. I just can’t operate with this type of threat," he said.
