Sweet Tooth is one of the most iconic characters of the bygone PlayStation era and Summer Game Fest just got a little too sweet!

Back in April 2023, we were treated to the first trailer for the Twisted Metal TV show, but now we have a special preview clip of the live-action adaptation coming to Peacock. During the preview, we got to hear Will Arnett’s voice as Sweet Tooth while he kicked the ass of MCU and Captain America star, Anthony Mackie.

Twisted Metal: “Follows a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland,” reads the official synopsis.

The debut season of Twisted Metal will take place over ten episodes and is described as a ‘high-octane action comedy’ and fans will hope that it will not only do the PlayStation series justice but also expand upon its dark and sinister lore. Recently, video game fans have been spoilt with the likes of HBO’s The Last of Us, proving that live-action adaptations can be quite brilliant.

Twisted Metal will feature a brand new story and is said to be loosely based on the PlayStation IP. Helping to bring this series to life are showrunners Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland), alongside writer Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai). Joe Seanoa and Thomas Haden Church will also star alongside Anthony Mackie and Will Arnett.

Will Twisted Metal live up to the hype and match the standards set by The Last of Us or will it flop hard like the woeful live-action Resident Evil series on Netflix? Only time will tell.

The Twisted Metal TV show will premiere on 27 July 2023 on Peacock. Hopefully, if this TV series proves to be a success, we might finally get that rumoured Twisted Metal video game on PlayStation 5.
