Last week saw the rumour that Hunter Schafer would be taking on the role of Zelda in the upcoming live-action The Legend of Zelda movie.
However, this also begs the question as to who would be joining her in the iconic role of Link.
The Legend of Zelda live-action movie is currently in development at Nintendo and Sony Pictures and is currently scheduled for a March 2027 release.

Inspired by the hit video game series, the movie was officially announced back in November 2023 and although some time has passed, we are still in the dark about who could take on the iconic roles of Link and Zelda amongst others.
Directed by Wes Ball, who is perhaps best known for his work on Maze Runner and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, The Legend of Zelda is expected to be “this awesome fantasy-adventure movie that isn’t like Lord of the Rings, it’s its own thing,” according to Ball.
“I've always said, I would love to see a live-action Miyazaki. That wonder and whimsy that he brings to things, I would love to see something like that."
According to a rumour that was circulating online last week, Euphoria actress Hunter Schafer could be taking on the role of Zelda but if true, who will be joining her as Link?

Well, fans have seemingly decided in a recent discussion over on r/zelda.
“Who would you want to see play Link in the movie?” User AlexHQ asked.
“Personally, I’d pick Mike Faist”.
Faist, who is best known for his 2024’s Challengers and 2021’s West Side Story, definitely looks the part with his elf-like features and mop of blonde hair.

The top comment by user ImNearATrain said, “I can see it.
Don’t know who the f**k he is. But I can see it working.”
However, another user is not so sure, adding, “He might work yeah, but idk if he's androgynous enough.
Link is definitely on the androgynous side of things, one of the things I always liked about him, but this guy might seem less so in costume and with the ears.”

It remains to be seen which actors will take on the role of Link and Zelda but with the movie not expected for another few years, there may still be quite a wait.
