Despite airing for just one season, Disney+’s The Acolyte was cancelled back in 2024 but a recent social media post may just instill some hope into fans.
Airing back in June 2024, The Acolyte was a Disney+ Star Wars show that followed the story of a former Padawan as she reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes.
However, they soon discover that forces are way more sinister than they could have ever anticipated when an enemy known only as The Stranger enters the fray.

Consisting of eight episodes, The Acolyte was unfortunately axed after its first season and failed to stand up against some other iconic Star Wars television shows such as Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Nevertheless, its fanbase has remained loud and proud and have been advocating for a second season ever since.
That being said, it is not just its fanbase that is fighting for a renewal as a cast member has recently shown her support for the show.
Rebecca Henderson, who played Vernestra Rwoh in The Acolyte, posted to social media earlier this week to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of the show.

This came after Henderson was mentioned by the official savetheacolytecampaign Instagram account and it wasn’t long before the actress reposted it with her own hashtags.
“Thank you for all your love and support,” she wrote, alongside the hashtags #renewtheacolyte and #AcolyteSummer.
There has been no mention of a renewal for The Acolyte but who knows? With such a dedicated fanbase, it may just come true in the future.
This would see fans able to experience the story of characters such as Vernestra Rwoh and her links to The Stranger, as well as the unexplained appearance of Darth Plagueis.

However, with multiple Star Wars projects currently in the works, it seems as though The Acolyte has well and truly been left behind.
