Star Wars The Acolyte was a misfire from Disney according to many fans, and while there are plenty of people who would like to see it return it’s pretty clear a second season is off the table.
That said, many fans believe it had some redeeming qualities, and some of the plot points introduced deserved to be finished in another series.
“Could we get a Darth Plagueis series that wraps up any remaining Acolyte plot points?” asked Reddit user The-Mandalorian, something many Star Wars fans have wanted for a while now.

Darth Plagueis did appear at the end of The Acolyte, and would have presumably had an important role to play in a second season that might have brought the timeline up to Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
“A live action Stranger/Plagueis series that concludes the Acolyte's plot arcs, and quickly broadens the show's scope out to involve perhaps other Acolytes, and Plagueis/Tenebrous, their plans and history, would be great” replied one Star Wars fan.
Another suggested “I don't think it'd be a Plagueis show. What I think is most likely is that we get a spinoff focused on Qimir” going on to say “Most people (even those who disliked The Acolyte) generally agree that Qimir was a fantastic addition.”
Personally I’m onboard, Qimir was great and it’s about time we got a Plagueis live-action story, but if that’s the case surely it’d make sense to rally behind a second season of The Acolyte rather than a brand-new show?

Unfortunately it seems unlikely that Disney will greenlight either project, and it’s always seemed hesitant to explore the Old/High Republic and with The Acolyte essentially bombing it’s going to be an uphill battle to get another show like it.
Never say never though, there’s plenty of potential for these characters and there’s always a chance they’ll come back one day, when the time is right.
