The actor behind Star Wars' most maligned character, Jar Jar Binks, has revealed that they’ll be returning to the universe in a new motion capture role in the future… and everyone has immediately come to the conclusion that Darth Jar Jar is inbound.
If you weren’t alive or were simply too young at the time, it’s really hard to understate how much people absolutely hated Jar Jar Binks during the height of the prequel trilogy.
These days, Episodes 1 to 3 are regarded with love, but at the time… oh boy did people hate them.

Unfortunately, the motion capture actor behind the portrayal of Jar Jar Binks, Ahmed Best, caught a lot of the stick online for his role in the film.
It really goes without saying but, he was just doing his job, and his motion capture work really was not to blame for Jar Jar’s characterisation.
Well it seems Best wasn’t entirely put off by the hate he received though, as he announced a while back on Instagram that he’ll be returning to the Star Wars universe in a motion capture role… alongside the tags #mocap #starwars #jarjarbinks and #sithlord.
Over on Discussing Film’s Twitter post regarding the news, every commenter seems to have had the same idea.

“WE GETTING SITH JAR JAR”, commented user @nykbj1.
“Sith lord Jar Jar in live action”, replied user @Shadowiscold.
Considering Best tagged Activision in the project, it does seem like this won’t be a return to the role in the live-action sense.
It sounds like we’ll be getting soe kind of Jar Jar Binks portrayal in an upcoming Star Wars video game, although exactly what role the character will serve is anyone’s guess.

Would be a bit of a missed opportunity not to follow up on the whole Darth Jar Jar meme in some way though. Oh sorry, I said “meme” but I actually meant “plot point”.
