Hey, you remember the only good part of Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker? You know, the bit where Rey went into her dreams or whatever, and a cool, switchblade-lightsaber wielding goth version of Rey turned up to make fun of her?
Well good news, because reportedly the Darth/Sith version of Rey is finally coming back… but probably not in the place you expected.
You know, the ninth episode in Disney’s Star Wars trilogy was terrible… and that’s the end of that sentence.

Alright, jokes aside, Darth Rey was cool. Well, she looked cool anyway. Ok, fine– her lightsaber looked cool.
Basically the only decent element of that film is reportedly set to return sometime tomorrow, although it won’t be in a new film or a TV series. Instead, Darth Rey will be a new skin in Fortnite.
As reported by Polygon's Russ Frushtick, Fortnite leaked iFireMonkey revealed earlier this week that the evil (see the dictionary definition for the word "cooler") version of Rey will be popping up on May 30 as part of the game's month-long Star Wars season.
Over on HYPEX’s Twitter post detailing the leak, people seem pretty excited… for some reason.

“Waiting to see what she looks like in game. Should be a pretty peak skin though”, commented user @TiTanSwan27.
“Sith Rey in Fortnite feels like canon now and I’m not mad”, replied user @Soulbound_TV.
To be fair, if the lightsaber is like a pickaxe or something that you can equip to other characters, then maybe this is actually pretty sweet.
Otherwise, I’d prefer we do everything in our power to collectively erase Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker from the public consciousness.

Maybe if we all just pretend that film never happened, Disney can take another shot at rounding off the trilogy. Not like they could do a worse job the second time around.
