Star Wars fans will be shocked to learn that Palpatine’s children weren’t conceived under normal means.
Palpatine was many things in Star Wars, but clearly he wasn’t a romantic as despite having a granddaughter, Rey, his family tree pretty much ends with him when you adopt a biological point of view.
We do see Palpatine’s “son” in Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise Of Skywalker, and if you forgot that, don’t worry; there’s lots of stuff from that film that we wish we hadn’t seen too.

Many have wondered if Rey’s dad was one of Palpatine’s kids from before his rise to power in the prequels, but apparently not.
Reddit user instantramen86 broke it down in a thread on the very topic, saying Rey’s dad was actually just a really good, or bad, clone of the Sith lord.
“He had clones with various levels of success, including one who was genetically suitable to host his spirit if his body were ever killed, but who was not Force sensitive … This clone eventually took the name Dathan and fell in love with a woman named Miramir, and together they had a daughter named Rey.”
Dathan was, of course, killed during the hunt for Rey, a shame because he seemed like a decent chap unlike his “dad”.

“So Rey isn't Palpatine's actual granddaughter but the daughter of his clone?” asked another commenter, to which others replied yes. Technically, it’d be his daughter since Dathan was essentially Palpatine as well.
It’s really weird, and yet another example of how the ninth Star Wars film completely jumped the shark, which says a lot because Star Wars is full of weird and wonderful things that many fans just accept, this can’t be one of them though.
