If you’re a fan of the Fallout and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, then you’re going to want to put this upcoming MMO shooter on your radar.
The Fallout series has also been very popular since its inception in 1997 on PC. However, after Bethesda Softworks acquired its license and released Fallout 3 in 2008, it’s fair to claim that the series became bigger and more popular over the years.
The continued popularity of the post-apocalyptic series manifested in the critically acclaimed live-action Fallout series released on Amazon’s Prime Video in 2024, with fans now eager for its confirmed second season, which will take us to the iconic New Vegas.

Yet, when it comes to new video game entries, fans have been starved of content. Sure, we had the Fallout 4 new-gen update last year and the MMORPG spin-off, Fallout 76, continues to improve, but we’re all dying to know when we’ll be treated to Fallout 5.
In the meantime, as brought to our attention by DSOGaming, the upcoming indie game, PIONER, developed and published by GFAGAMES, looks like it could be a potential banger.
“PIONER drops players into a vast, grim world, where survival hinges on exploration, crafting, and smart resource management,” reads the description of the game on Steam.
“As an MMO FPS, it offers both PvE missions and intense PvP zones, with unique crafting mechanics, hundreds of weapons and a deep story to explore.”

The trailer on the PIONER Steam page looks promising, but soon, you’ll be able to test the game first-hand to see if it looks and plays as good as the trailer leads us to believe.

A playable demo will be free to download during Steam Next Fest, which means it should be available sometime between 9 June to 16 June 2025.
The free playable demo for PIONER is said to include the full prologue, as well as its main hub area (Wanderer Pass) to interact with real players before heading out on missions. What’s more, the demo will also include five quests and a sure-to-be challenging co-op Raid.
No release date has been announced for PIONER at the time of writing, but it is expected to arrive on PC at some point this year. Be sure to wishlist the game on Steam to be notified of its launch.
